Membership

All clubs registered and licensed under any Act or Acts in force in The Northern Territory relating to clubs, and whom are financial Members of the AHA NT Branch, will be deemed members of the Association, upon payment of the subscription as provided in these rules.

Other organisations which provide financial support, goods or services to clubs in the Northern Territory may be admitted as associate members of the Association. Associate members will have the right to attend general meetings and to receive other benefits as determined by the Committee, but they will have no right to vote as members under these Rules.

Applications for membership must be in writing, and must be sent to the Public Officer of the Association, and applicants must agree to be bound by the Rules of the Association and any by-laws approved by it.

Applications will be brought before the Committee at the next or subsequent meeting, when the majority of the members of the Committee present may admit the applicant as a member.

Any applicant who receives a majority of the votes of the members of the Committee present at the meeting at which the application is being considered will be accepted as a member provided that membership can only be refused if the applicant is not eligible or is of general bad character.

Applicants for membership will be advised in writing of:

  1. the various benefits of membership;
  2. the financial obligations arising from membership; and
  3. the circumstances and manner in which a member may resign from the Association.
